Historical significance
A short, sheltered beach on the west shore between the Civilian Dock and Crab Point. Its calm water is a function of position: it sits inside the lee of the point, out of the harbour chop that works the exposed southwest shore.
On the ground
- Crab Point closes the view to the north; Lobster Cove lies immediately beyond it.
- Cobble gives way to sand only in the middle of the beach — the pocket is small and tidally sensitive.
